I am not a particularly good gardener. But I do like to share my interest in gardening here on Endymion from time to time. It's because gardening is really one of the greatest of creative pursuits, and more people really should be doing it. Combining exercise, fresh air and a love of design, there is hardly any problem or difficulty in life that cannot be improved upon by a spell outside working with plants and landscape.
Walking in the countryside has similar benefits. Cares are forgotten, worries vanish. It's great for writers, too. And whether it's just a humble window box or the management of a huge estate, the spaces where we grow plants are invariably those of magic and inspiration - souces of nourishment for body, mind and spirit.
